Burke-Gilman TrailAugust 14th, 2004
This is the famous Burke-Gilman trail, great for bike riding. Almost completely flat with very few traffic crossings.
North Loop (via Redmond)September 7th, 2004
This was my first ride around the lake. I got lost in Bothell but found the trail which leads down the Sammamish River. Once I got to Redmond I had to try to find my way to the 90 bridge. I chose a very hilly path. I don't recommend following this path from Redmond to Factoria. Once I hit Seattle, there was a bit of traffic to deal with. Otherwise, this was a great ride.
Spawn Cycle RideSeptember 19th, 2004
This is the 1st annual Cascade Spawning Cycle Ride. I didn't exactly follow the trail around the U-district area, but I quickly got back on correct trail.
North Loop (my third try)October 9th, 2004
This was my third time trying to go around the lake. This time when I got to Redmond I tried to find a less hilly route over to the 90 bridge. I chose to go to Kirkland, but I still encountered a big hill. It was a fun ride, otherwise.
Burke-Gilman to RedmondOctober 20th, 2004
This was my most fun ride yet. I followed the Burke-Gilman trail, and then down the Sammamish valley until the very end of the trail, in Redmond. Then I rode back. It was perfect, no hills, and all trail (no streets). I highly recommend this route.
South LoopOctober 23rd, 2004
This was a ride I did with a cycling team. I followed them around a well traveled cycling route. This is a great path with low car traffic. This is probably the most optimal cycling path around the south part of the lake.
North Loop (over Juanita)October 27th 2004
This is another path around the north end of the lake. My cycling friend Dean led me on this path. This path took us over Juanita, which is a BIG hill, but it was fun.
North Loop (skipping Juanita)November 13th, 2004
This trip I did as a guest with a cycling team. They took a less hilly route around the "Juanita hill". Once we got to Mercer Island, we went around the outside of it. It was very curvy and had minor hills, it was great fun, though. I highly recommend this route.
STP sectionNovember 28th, 2004
This route my friend Robert showed me. I did this to try to trace over the STP (which I have not done). My goal in doing this segment is to begin to collect the GPS data of the 2004 STP route. This is not the most optimal way to travel in this area unless its for the STP.
